Steve was the Artistic Director of the community theatre company Spectacle Theatre, specialising in work for young people. His responsibilities included artistic leadership and programming, commissioning, casting and directing.
Since 1990, he has directed over sixty productions for Spectacle Theatre. Most of these have been new writing or company devised work. Through Spectacle Theatre, he developed international links with Ireland, Denmark, China, Friesland and Poland, resulting in a number of successful collaborations and co-productions.
