Steve uses theatre and drama techniques to develop and deliver a wide range of workshops. He continually invents new games and imaginative solutions to the challenges presented by the creative and expressive aspects of the performing arts. It is rewarding when these exercises go on to be used, developed and adapted outside of workshops by others.
He has created many thematic workshops as well as skills based workshops with practitioners. He led Spectacle Theatre’s ground-breaking work in HM Parc Prison, for which the company won an Arts and Business Cymru Award in 2007.
He prides himself on recreation, development and adaptation of work, refusing to let workshops become stagnant. He trains and mentors other practitioners to enter a space and read what is possible; his ethos is to never impose, but to work with.
